Women are entering franchising at a steady and growing rate, and by most measures, they’re thriving. Female franchise ownership has climbed from 28% of all franchisees in 2015 to 32% in 2026, and the satisfaction data that accompanies that growth is striking.

Franchise Business Review just named ANY LAB TEST NOW® to its list of Top 100 Franchises for Women. The annual rankings are built entirely on franchisee feedback, and this year’s list drew from surveys completed by more than 8,550 female franchise owners across 330 brands, covering 33 benchmark questions on leadership, training, financial opportunity, and work/life balance.

When nine out of ten business owners say they would recommend their brand to someone else, that’s peer validation that carries real weight. FBR president Michelle Rowan notes, that kind of endorsement is “invaluable when you’re standing at the threshold of a major life decision.” Before committing to any franchise, prospective owners should go well beyond reviewing company materials and should speak directly with current franchise owners.

Who Female Franchise Owners Are

The average female franchise owner is 51 years old with seven years in business. That profile is consistent with franchising as a second-career move – a path where professional experience translates directly into business ownership. Many women entering franchising today are coming from corporate backgrounds, healthcare, education, and other fields where they’ve spent years managing people and operations. A franchise gives that experience a proven system to work within.

The Multi-Unit Opportunity

Just 37% of female franchise owners currently operate multiple franchise units, compared to 47% of men. That gap is significant, and represents one of the clearest growth opportunities in franchising today. Multi-unit ownership is a well-established path to stronger financial outcomes, and women are underrepresented in it.

FBR’s research shows female franchise owners on the top list report average gross revenues of $1.2M and average pre-tax income of $95K. Scaling to additional units changes those numbers considerably.

As the year 2021 came to a close, Any Lab Test Now franchising surpassed a major milestone that undoubtedly set the tone for another successful year in 2022, which also happens to be the brand’s 30th year in business. Bradstock has served as COO for Any Test Franchising since 2007 and was appointed to the position of CEO in April, 2014. Here’s how the award process works. To be considered for the Franchise Rock Star Awards, brands consider nominees after an internal franchise survey. For this year’s judging process, Franchise Business Review reviewed over 200+ nominations from franchisors in eight different categories. These included franchise owners up for the Top Performers, Multi-Unit Owners, Veteran-Owned and Family-Owned groupings. Franchise Business Review then narrowed the overall group of nominees by selecting 60 select franchisees who meet the definition of a franchise Rock Star. Twelve special franchise owners were selected as the winners in their respective categories, including Any Lab Test Now owners, Tom and Carrie Powers, from the Multi-Unit category.
