DESCRIPTION:

The Cardiac Risk Panel gives you a clearer picture of your overall health, specifically your heart health. This panel helps to identify your risk of cardiovascular or heart disease by monitoring any inflammation in your body. This panel also reports your blood counts, electrolytes, kidney and liver functions.

The C‐Reactive Protein (CRP) is a protein that increases during systemic inflammation. This panel tests this level to assess any cardiovascular or heart disease risk.

Homocysteine is a common amino acid (they make up proteins) that you get from eating meat. This panel tests your homocysteine levels and if high, can lead to early development of heart and blood vessel disease.

WHY DO I NEED IT?

WHAT ARE THE TEST RESULT RANGES?

Normal Range:

Complete Blood Count (CBC) see individual test
Chemistry Panel see individual test
C‐Reactive Protein (hs‐CRP) see individual test
Homocysteine <10 µmoles/L
Lipoprotein (a) Below 30 mg/dL

High Results Indicate:

COMPLETE BLOOD COUNT (CBC): See individual test.

CHEMISTRY PANEL: See individual test.

C-REACTIVE PROTEIN (hs-CRP): See individual test.

HOMOCYSTEINE: High results could indicate atherosclerosis, heart attack, stroke or blood clot formation.

LIPOPROTEIN (A): High results could indicate a high risk for atherosclerosis, stroke or heart attack.

Low Results Indicate:

COMPLETE BLOOD COUNT (CBC): See individual test.

CHEMISTRY PANEL: See individual test.

C-REACTIVE PROTEIN (hs-CRP): See individual test.

HOMOCYSTEINE: There is no low result range for this test.

LIPOPROTEIN (A): There is no low result range for this test.
