Symptoms of STDs can vary, so it is possible to have one and not realize it. This is why STD testing is so important.

The Rapid HIV and Syphilis test is a quick way to screen for both HIV and syphilis with high sensitivity and specificity. This test works by detecting Treponema pallidum (which is the bacteria that causes syphilis), and antibodies to HIV. All it requires is a simple blood draw – screening results are available in approximately 1 hour.

Please note that this is a screening test, not a diagnostic test. This test will give a result of either “reactive” or “non-reactive” for both HIV and syphilis. All “reactive” test results will be confirmed through additional testing. This means that for “reactive” screens only, a blood sample will be sent out to an outside reference lab for diagnostic testing.

How long will it take to get my results?

The results of your screening test will be available in approximately 1 hour. Please note that for all “reactive” screens, a blood sample will be sent to an outside lab for confirmation testing. The results of this confirmation testing are typically available within 3-5 business days after the lab receives your sample.

If I have a “reactive” test result, will it be reported to the health department?

The requirements for reporting positive STD results to the local/state health departments vary from state to state. If you have a “reactive” rapid HIV or syphilis result, a blood sample will then be sent to an outside lab for diagnostic testing. Any potentially positive results will not be reported to the health department until after diagnostic confirmation.

Is a doctor’s order required?

Either we provide the doctor’s order for the lab test at no additional cost, or we accept your physician’s order.

Do I need to make an appointment?

No, you are welcome to walk in for same-day testing. We make it easy for you by offering work-friendly hours.

Herpes 1 and 2

STDs are common, and it is possible to have an STD and not realize it. Symptoms of STDs can vary- some people might experience significant symptoms, and others might not have any symptoms at all. Even if people do not feel any symptoms, they can still spread STDs. This is why STD testing is so important.

Typically, STD testing is done with urine samples, blood samples, or genital swabs. Although these are very useful tests, they will not tell you if you have an STD in the oral cavity.

HIV

HIV is a sexually transmitted disease (that can be spread outside of sexual contact) known as Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). It is the virus that causes AIDS. This condition damages your immune system and can lead to serious illness, infections and many other symptoms.

There are two parts to the HIV Test at ANY LAB TEST NOW®.

1. The first part is an initial blood screen. A negative result means there are no HIV antibodies and p24 antigen in your blood.

2. If the screen is positive, the lab will run a confirmation test called an HIV 1 / 2 Antibody differentiation test. This confirmation test will determine an HIV-1 or HIV-2 virus.

Syphilis

The Syphilis Test detects antibodies to the bacterium that cause the disease in blood, body fluid or tissue. It will tell you if you’re infected or not.

Chlamydia

Chlamydia often has minimal or no symptoms. If symptoms do occur, they can include: abnormal vaginal or penile discharge, burning with urination, abdominal or pelvic pain, and more. Because chlamydia often does not show symptoms, the best way to know if you have it is to test for it.
