To diagnose an infection with hepatitis A or to evaluate the need for or response to the hepatitis A vaccination.
You should be tested if you have symptoms of an infection and/or have been exposed to the hepatitis A virus (HAV). You shpould also be tested if you have chronic liver disease or if you have received the HAV vaccine.
