What is it?

You might be surprised to learn that a person usually comes into contact with the herpes virus from an oral infection they had as a child. The Herpes Simplex Virus I (HSVI) or Herpes Simplex Virus II (HSVII) might produce oral or genital herpes infections.

Why Should I Get Tested?

To see if you have one of these viruses requires a blood test that determines the level of antibodies in your blood. When antibodies are completely negative it indicates there is no evidence of an HSV infection. If the test results indicate that you do have Herpes, you’re not alone. Estimates indicate that more than 50% of all adults have some form of HSV infection.
