Hair Alcohol Abuse Test (FAEE)
$650.00

Test Components:

The FAEE Hair Alcohol Abuse Test measures the amount of Fatty Acid Ethyl Esters (FAEEs) in your hair.

Description:

Are your employees, clients or child abusing alcohol?

The FAEE Hair Alcohol Abuse Test measures the amount of Fatty Acid Ethyl Esters (FAEEs) in your hair - which are only produced when alcohol is in the bloodstream. Growing hair absorbs FAEEs markers that remain in the hair indefinitely. The more FAEEs, the more alcohol is consumed. You'll be able to determine if your patient, employee or family member is a heavy alcohol drinker.

Essentially, this simple, non-invasive test identifies individuals with a recent history of alcohol abuse - between .5 - 6 months.

The best part about the Hair Alcohol Abuse Test is there are no topical solutions or adulterants that affect the ability to detect FAEEs in the hair.

Why Do I Need It?:

Alcohol abuse is a serious disease that is attributed to 79,000 deaths, 1.6 million hospitalizations and an economic loss of over $180 billion per year. The FAEE Hair Alcohol Abuse Test will definitively tell you if your client or employee is an abusive alcohol drinker. Through forensic science, it gives you the proof you might need in child custody cases, pre-hire decisions or just peace of mind.

Other Relevant Tests:

Others have considered the 10-Panel Drug Test, Legally Admissible DNA Paternity Test or any of our dozens of drug tests.

Test Details:

Normal Range:

There is no normal range or high/low results indicate for the Hair Alcohol Abuse Test. Each customer receives a results report with a "positive" or "negative" result for alcohol abuse and a numeric level of FAEE concentration measured in nanograms (ng)/milligrams (mg). This correlates with generalized alcohol consumption habits. Anything over 1.0 ng/mg indicates an 'abusive drinker.'

Note: Ethanol is present in all hair including those that abstain from alcohol – however, these trace amounts are products of the environment. They do not correlate to alcohol which has been consumed and are considered the 'baseline' for the test.

High Results Indicate:

Anything over 1.0 ng/mg indicates a 'positive' and an 'abusive drinker.' Each customer receives a results report with a "positive" or "negative" result for alcohol abuse and a numeric level of FAEE concentration measured in nanograms (ng)/milligrams (mg). This correlates with generalized alcohol consumption habits.

Note: Ethanol is present in all hair including those that abstain from alcohol – however, these trace amounts are products of the environment. They do not correlate to alcohol which has been consumed and are considered the 'baseline' for the test.

Low Results Indicate:

Ethanol is present in all hair including those that abstain from alcohol – that's why some FAEEs will be detected. These trace amounts are products of the environment. They do not correlate to alcohol which has been consumed and are considered the 'baseline' for the test.
