High Results Indicate:

HOMOCYSTEINE: Elevated levels could indicate a deficiency in folic acid, Vitamin B6 or Vitamin B12; kidney disease, hypothyroidism, inflammatory bowel disease or excessive alcohol consumption.

Elevated levels could indicate an increased risk of heart disease. Elevated levels for lipoprotein (a) are more serious if you also have an elevated level of LDL cholesterol.

PREALBUMIN: Elevated levels could indicate high dose corticosteroid therapy, hyperactive adrenal glands, high doses of anti-inflammatory medications or Hodgkin’s Disease.
