High Results Indicate:

HOMOCYSTEINE: Elevated levels could indicate a deficiency in folic acid, Vitamin B6 or Vitamin B12; kidney disease, hypothyroidism, inflammatory bowel disease or excessive alcohol consumption.

LIPOPROTEIN (A): Elevated levels could indicate an increased risk of heart disease. Elevated levels for lipoprotein (a) are more serious if you also have an elevated level of LDL cholesterol.

PREALBUMIN: Elevated levels could indicate high dose corticosteroid therapy, hyperactive adrenal glands, high doses of anti-inflammatory medications or Hodgkin’s Disease.
